The working principle of an atmospheric water generator involves the following steps:
- Air intake: A fan draws humid air into the machine through a HEPA air filter, which can efficiently filter particles as small as 0.3 microns, including PM 2.5 dust.
- Cooling the humidity: The humid air is cooled by a compressor system until the moisture in the air begins to condense.
- Condensation: The moisture in the air loses heat energy and changes state from gas to liquid in the form of water droplets, a process called condensation.
- Initial filtration: The water droplets are passed through filters and carbon filter bags in the raw water tank for preliminary contaminant filtration. UV light is also used for disinfection.
- Water collection: The filtered water droplets are collected in the raw water tank.
- Fine filtration: The water is then pumped through Precarbon and Postcarbon filtration systems to remove odors, colors, chlorine, suspended particles, and various organic and inorganic substances.
- RO filtration: The water passes through an RO (Reverse Osmosis) filtration system with a precision of 0.0001 microns, capable of filtering very small contaminants such as microplastics, PM 2.5, bacteria, viruses, protozoa, and various harmful substances.
- Mineral addition and pH adjustment: The water is filtered through a TCR carbon filter to add beneficial minerals and slightly adjust the pH to alkaline, giving the water a good taste similar to rainwater.
- UV disinfection: The filtered water is passed through a UV system for additional disinfection in the water pipes, increasing confidence in cleanliness.
- Drinking water storage: The filtered and disinfected water is stored in a drinking water tank ready for dispensing, with another UV disinfection step.
- Re-filtering at the tap: When dispensing water, it is filtered once more through a microfilter at the tap to ensure the cleanliness of the drinking water.
- Water recycling in the system: If the water in the system is not used for more than 4 hours, which may allow pathogens to grow, the system will send the water back through the filtration and disinfection process again to ensure fresh and clean water at all times.
